Accommodation

All residents enjoy the privacy of their own bed-sitting room with vanity unit or WC en-suite, and the majority have their private door leading to the gardens.  The bedrooms are offered fully furnished.  At the discretion of the managment, some of the personal furniture of the resident can be included.

Residential care home bedroomThere is a resident's lounge, which is spacious and pleasant with comfortable seating.  Television is provided in the lounge, which has a large adjoining conservatory and there is full central heating and double glazing throughout the home.

Every room has a nurse call system with staff on duty 24 hours a day, as well as full fire regulations and emergency lighting.  There is a telephone situation in the entrance hall for resident's use.  A private telephone can be provided on request.

The accommodation you accept on admission may not be your first choice for long term residency.  As other rooms become available it is possible to change to another which may be more suitable to individual needs.

Glendale Lodge GardenGlendale Lodge, first built in 1981, incorporates fire and safety features not always found in older style Care Homes.  Most of the available rooms are on the ground floor with the exception of two on the first floor for which a chair lift has been provided.  Many residents do not have to climb stairs as they go to and from their rooms, one of the more significant advantages of Glendale Lodge.  All the ground floor units have floor to ceiling windows, which open directly onto the gardens surrounding Glendale Lodge.  This not only provides an attractive view, but also it means that in the event of an emergency, residents can be rapidly evacuated.

Food

Glendale Lodge provides an excellent and varied cuisine with the emphasis on home cooking, using as much fresh food as possible.  Wine is included with meals for those who wish to partake at no extra cost.  Special diets are catered for.  While every effort is made to provide a healthy and balanced diet, residents have their likes and dislikes and every effort is therefore made to accommodate a resident's choice.  There is always more than one choice of meal at lunch or supper.  Breakfast is served in resident's rooms.  Fresh fruit and hot drinks are always available.
